Intellectual Ventures has been actively inventing since August 2003. The company has filed hundreds of patent applications in more than 30 technology areas and has more than a thousand ideas under consideration. The first patents began issuing in November 2005, and Intellectual Ventures currently ranks in the top 50 among companies who file patents worldwide.

IV’s inventions span a broad range of areas including: computer software and hardware, UI design, semiconductors, biomedical devices, advanced medical procedures, digital imaging, nanotechnology and advanced particle physics.

The internal staff includes patent experts, software engineers, physicists, biotechnologists, geologists, programmers and mathematicians. As of summer 2006, the company has signed up more than 20 senior inventors who invent with us on a part-time basis. These senior inventors represent some of the best minds in their respective fields.
